The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has barred former LPL Financial broker Rudy Anguiano after finding that he converted more than $1.7 million from two customers, according to AdvisorHub.
From July 2023 through August 2025, Anguiano transferred customer funds from LPL accounts to a bank account belonging to a company he owned and controlled, FINRA alleged. The regulator found that he took $1.528 million from one customer through five transfers and another $203,000 from a second customer through five additional transfers.
FINRA found that Anguiano violated its rule prohibiting the improper use of customer funds and Rule 2010, which requires brokers to observe high standards of commercial honor.
According to AdvisorHub, FINRA began investigating Anguiano in December after LPL terminated him for failing to disclose an outside business, according to the regulator. LPL fully reimbursed both customers.
Anguiano settled without admitting or denying FINRA's findings in what is known as an Acceptance, Waiver and Consent (AWC).
Anguiano spent nearly two decades in the securities industry. He joined Alexander Capital the month after leaving LPL and departed the firm in July, the same month FINRA reported on BrokerCheck that it intended to pursue formal disciplinary action, according to AdvisorHub.
