SEC Charges Investment Adviser With Fraud

The SEC announced fraud charges against Family Endowment Partners LP (“FEP”) and its owner, Lee Dana Weiss, for allegedly self-dealing and failing to disclose facts to clients. FEP purportedly urged clients to invest more than $40 million in illiquid securities, without disclosing that Weiss had several investments in those companies.
